Patio Time

After a productive day looking for nursery ideas yesterday we decided to stay at the house and watched basketball for the rest of day.  Syracuse disappointed me but the Cats were able to pull it off in overtime.  This season is a lot different for both the Orange and Kentucky.  Hope tournament time they both pull it together and play well!

House Projects:
This year we are trying to do a lot in a short period of time (all before Baby Woos).  The first house project that we are going to tackle is our patio- Finally!  I have picked out a wicker love seat and chair to add to our screened in porch from Home Depot.  The picture makes it look more red but it is actually a burnt orange color which is perfect because I already purchased a burnt orange umbrella for our outdoor table months ago.  We went to Home Depot and sat in the furniture yesterday and it was very comfortable plus the most reasonably priced.  I can't wait to read a book under the fan on this furniture and just relax.

....and since this furniture is going inside, the grill MUST be moved outside into our back yard.  Yea!!  No more accidently melting the siding of our house!  But the grill is my husband's baby so it can't just be placed on the ground so we are building an outdoor patio.  We are still debating exactly where to place it and what paver stones to use, but I am so excited.  This is a project that I have wanted to do for years now... but have been procratinating.  Donnie also has motivation to finish this project to (1) make sure his grill still looks nice and (2) Kentucky Derby party in May.

Patio Size and LocationWe first need to block off the area in the back yard where we want to put the patio and hopefully everything will fall into place.  I also need to find someone that knows what they are doing to install this patio... I would love to think we could do it ourselves but I'm not too confident in that idea.  The patio will be up against our fence so we won't need a retaining wall which will save us money, but how cool is the built in raised flower bed? (not the small ones but the one in the far back in the picture below)

Design a Paver Patio or Walkway

I may even go to Lowes today and look at the paver stones to get an idea of how much this project is going to cost us.  I'm just SOOO excited that we are actually going to do this.  There is no stopping this project once the extra furniture comes in :)

Other projects that need to be completed:
 -the nursery
-moving the guest room to the office
-cleaning out the garage- Again- and organizing it so it can be used as the man-cave and office
